Z06 oil cooler capacity
Can someone tell me the oil capacity of the factory Z06 engine oil cooler. I'm putting in a larger cooler and I need to calculate new oil capacity.
Thanks

Which cooler? There was more than 1.
And just fill it until it shows in the correct area. No need to calculate anything. Follow standard oil change procedure per the instructions. Any change to the cooler/cooling system is so small it won't effect anything.

It takes a ton of extra oil to ruin an engine. An idling 1-4 quarts low isn't' going to hurt anything. So add whatever the manual calls for on low end, check dip stick per manual, and add oil until it is where you want. No one should be blindly just adding a set amount of oil.

Simple, it takes exactly enough oil to bring it up to the top mark on the dipstick. Buy one more quart than you bought before and see how much of it you have to use.

IMO better to run it on the low end of the dip stick. I always make sure it is near bottom 1/4. Towards the top and they tend to burp oil into the inlet if ran hard.

My cooler is the factory 2009 Z06 cooler placed forward of the radiator.
The new unit is a Fluidyne unit that's longer taller and wider. It should do a nice job of keeping the oil temps down when on the track. Its capacity is 1.2 quarts. I can't imagine the factory one being more than .5 quarts.
