Z06 Police car in NC ???
Just spotted this article...thought you guys in NC might find it interesting.
NC sheriff's deputy uses Corvette to stop speeders
Thu Jul 23, 8:56 pm ET
RALEIGH, N.C. – At least one sheriff's deputy in North Carolina won't have any trouble catching speeders. Multiple media outlets reported Wednesday that the Wake County Sheriff's Department has a Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Chevrolet said the car has a top track speed of 198 mph, with a base sticker price of $74,875. Its V8 racing engine generates 505 horsepower.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Phyllis Stevens said the car didn't cost the county any money since it was seized from a drug dealer.
Wake County isn't the first to used souped up cars.
Former Davidson County Sheriff Gerald Hege once had a Chevrolet Impala SS with a Corvette engine
Former Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Barker used several Camaro Z28s for traffic enforcement.

I've seen it on US 64 several times and once on I-540. Light package suspended inside the rear glass, and a LED bar in the front windshield, plus usual strobes in front and rear lights. No markings. Fast? Oh yeah!
Heard that NCHP was considering the same for I485 in Charlotte and I-40 north of Asheville to the state line. Anybody heard similar?

Im sure they have no intention of having fun driving it either....as exhibited by them jumping on it for the camera a couple of times. That car wont' be worth 2 craps when they are done abusing it.

This Z06 was on Top Gear yesterday and they were using it in a fake chase to chase one of the fastest bikes in the world! Some Triumph bike, I don't know much about bikes but top speed was around 200 plus mph. The end of the race they had to go across this long bridge out in CA out by the container docks and whomever crossed the finish line won.
Well of course with Tanner Foust behind the wheel of the Vette you know it won!! Man when they were on that bridge though the vette came back from a long distance to beat that bike!! It was an awesome site to see that vette smoke that bike especially in every corner!

Accidently I happened to catch this on TV last night. It was a really good showing of the Z06's capabilities.
