Default ZFlash's Paint Correction and Detail

I had the opportunity to detail Derrick's 2003 C5 Corvette with a laundry list of mods over the weekend. I've seen countless photos of C5s with wide fenders, but this was the first one I've seen in person. I have to say, I'm a big fan. Derrick had just installed a used set of bright red seats and wanted them steamed and the outside of the car polished. I did a two step on the paint and also cleaned the interior and under the hood. Overall, the paint was in pretty good shape starting off, but there is always something to be gained

Interior before cleaning

Seats, carpets, floor mats, etc. steam cleaned. The reds became much more vivid and the rest of the interior freshened up nicely.

Under hood before:

Under hood area after the dust was removed and dressed.

After the interior and under hood area were complete, I moved on to the exterior. They say "All Corvettes are Red" and this particular one was no exception as I removed a lot of red over spray from the car. My guess is that the aftermarket pieces were painted before a red car was done in the same shop.

Overspray removed from the hood along with a little plasti dip overspray for good measure:

After being washed and clayed, I taped the car up and began polishing. In all honesty, this car was in excellent shape when I started so I wanted to see what could be gained from using the right products to give it a little bit extra.

50/50 shot of the fender. As you can see, the paint picked up a lot of clarity and the metallic flakes started popping that much more:

Coming right along:

Overhead light reflection:

Hood reflections:

I really want some wide fenders after seeing these

Looking proper:

Lol, this is no joke. I am wanting new wheels anyway and now I'm REALLY wanting to order wide fenders.

What brand side skirts do you have? I forgot to ask, but I think they help a lot with the overall look of the wide rear.

My one neighbor asked again if it is for sale and keeps asking a price.

It's been raining everyday here since it got finished,I wanted it to stay pretty so I've been driving my '55 with street slicks. Talking about having traction issues , taking it out Thursday to Louisiana for some gambling fun. Thanks Toque, just trying to stay as pretty as yours and drive it everyday. L8R ZFLASH

Steve, I think I got the skirts from Eklers but they had another name on the inside. I really can't remember it was so long ago,if you're really interested,I can dig out my files of receipts and try to find out. Thanks again, L8R ZFLASH
