Default Lug Nut Torque setting

I have a C-7 and the manual says the lug nuts should be torqued at 100 ft. pounds. I have several friends with C-6s and C-7s and some of them are torqueing their lug nuts to 110-115 ft. pounds. Any advantage or dis-advantage to using 110-115.

My advice - follow the torque specs in the manual - they are there for a reason. I've heard that over torqueing the lugs may cause the rotors to warp.

Although I don't have any positive proof, over-torqueing could also potentially strip wheel studs or crack wheels.

Always torque to 100 Foot Pounds, no advantage to additional torque. More torque depending on how much, can break wheel studs or strip threads.

Only torque to 100 DRY. Do not use wet torques or you WILL stretch your lug nuts...ask me how I know
