The C8 Corvette is a mostly flawless machine, but there are a few quibbles owners have to share.

The C8 Corvette has been around for a couple of years now, and for the most part, owners and critics haven’t had too many bones to pick about the new mid-engine sports car. Sure, there are a few concerns, as is the case with every vehicle on the planet, but we are talking about perhaps the performance value of the century here, so those things can be mostly overlooked. Regardless, we found this Corvette Forum thread discussing the pros and cons of the C8 Corvette to be awfully interesting.

As one might imagine, most of the comments here are positive, as is the case with member Lie2Me. “I have had my 2022 HTC since mid-October,” he said. “The only issue for me is an occasional rattle/squeak from somewhere in the dash. Other than that, the car has been nothing short of AMAZING to own. I come from Jaguars and Porsches (along with a prior C6 and C7), and nothing I have owned was nearly as fun to drive. In fact, I think I hear her calling me from the garage. It’s time for her exercise, and she gets antsy if I don’t take her for a run.”

“I have a 2LT non Z51 with mag ride and I wouldn’t change a thing,” added proeagles. “This is the best driving car I’ve ever driven and the quality of build is way beyond what Chevy usually produces. I actually can’t believe it’s a Chevy. I’ve only got 4,100 miles on mine and it’s still averaging over 22 MPG with an average speed of 39 MPH. The only trip I’ve been on was from the museum home when I averaged 32 MPG. I harp on that because my GT350 never saw 21 MPG even on the highway and averaged only 17 while I had it.”

Of course, not all of the feedback in this thread is 100 percent positive. “I’m not a fan of the wall of China and the steering wheel,” said DH9441. “From an appearance perspective, not having any front screens may be an issue for you on the front grilles,” said C21ban. “Another small issue is the fact that water can penetrate the strut towers. Some may not consider this an issue but if keeping your car for a longer period of time, it may pay to invest $60 from Angry Off-Road. Easy enough to install for even me who has limited mechanical skills.”
