Here’s a classic to behold.

It’s also the source of some deep envy for me personally, because it’s yet another reminder of why auctions can be quite depressing for those of us who can’t afford to bid on these beauties.

This gorgeously restored Firemist Gold ’62 Corvette will be making its way across the blocks at the Mecum Auction in Indianapolis, which kicks off May 17. The car’s unique color is accented with a gold anodized front grille, a beige top, and gold color-match wheels with stock wheel covers.

Power comes courtesy of a small block V8 mated to a Borg Warner T-10 4-speed transmission. The Corvette also features a stock AM radio, sun visors, courtesy light, heater, spiral shocks, washer system, shifter, air cleaner, and generator.

Who knows exactly how much this classic ‘Vette will fetch at the auction. But one thing’s for certain – this one will be way out of my league as well.
