Corvette Comparison: Ten Reasons Why a C6 Z51 Is Better Than a C5 Z06
What you are about to read is an opinion, and it may sit in line with yours, or you may object to it. Tough beans. On to the subject: are C6 Z51 prices coming down enough to justify buying one over our long-time favorite bang-for-buck legend: the C5 Z06? In the video below, an owner of both thinks the C6 is making a justifiable case for itself, and I have to say, I agree with the points he makes.
The main part that I agree with is that the C6 is simply a nicer place to be on a daily basis. There’s no doubt that in that aspect alone, the C6 is better than a C5, and that’s something that now sways my opinion of a car, especially in my advancing age. Performance, all things considered, will be a strong point of the Z06, but the Z51’s pack is close enough that in everyday driving, you’d be hard-pressed to need those extra g-forces not present in the Z51. Even practicality gets a nod, with the bigger hatch of the C6, and impressive fuel economy; though we know that’s not the reason why you buy a Corvette of any ilk.
