Cruise In?

Now that the acquisition has been announced, I expect they'll want to be at future Cruise-Ins so they can participate in the festivities. They already have expressed interest in Roscoe's cookin'.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

If you don't register, you hurt the National Corvette Museum. It's Adam and his associates at the NCM who do all of the planning and coordination for CI events such as autoX, drag racing, cruises, car show, participation by GM, use of the NCM auditorium, etc.

I sincerely doubt IB would back away from it, if for no other reason than good business and public relations
If they did, and the NCM (for whatever reason?) decided they wanted out, we'd just have to form an event comittee and organize it ourselves. It's not that big a deal. It's been done before
There was a very successful forum gathering in Daytona Beach many years ago. It was the 1st gathering I'd ever attended with this group.
Although it was a bit cold (for a native Floridian) and rained a bit, people from all over still attended
There was the obligatory arrival party, great hotel rooms (didn't hear any complaints afterward), and...
Drag Racing
Auto Crossing
Car show
Some sightseeing at the speedway (with laps I believe?)
the works!
and...
It ended with a huge banquet at the hotel. There were awards and donated event goodies, food, drinks, the works
It could easily be done again

The NCM promotes the cruise in. The cruise in brings the people to them and the people are how they make a living.
But no, although it's great to have them, you don't really "need" them to pull off a cruise in.
