Harmonic Balancer Issue

Naturally, as the crankshaft turns and twists, the balancer absorbs incredible amounts of kinetic energy, particularly in high performance engine applications.
As I understand it, the balancer fitment is of a press-fit design. So how related to the problem is that, as opposed to if the balancer were of a mated slot and keyway design and in what way does the new GM OEM replacement balancer differ in design differ to prevent this failure from reoccurring again?
Thanks for any/all info, on what seems to be a long-time-running, real hot button issue on this Forum here and elsewhere. BTW, congratulations and major kudos on the re-birth design of the C7 Stingray...looking forward to joining the ranks as an owner one day!
