Car overheating issues on track.

I would like to hear more information on the Z06 cooling system as well. There was a post today from someone that lost 8 mph in straightaway speed at COTA due to heat issues.
I would also like to know if GM has any plans to offer cooling upgrade packages for the Z06. I have an A8 Z06 on order with a TPW of March 2. It seems likely that I will need to add cooling to run my car on track during the Summer in Chicago.

I believe Tadge said in an interview (possibly the one for the forum a few weeks back) that if they know that their cars are going to be track tested, they will give them the suggested track alignment in the owner's manual. I have no idea what oil they put in, though.

No doubt this is a great question for Tadge, and how can a car put a brilliant hot lap at VIR with straight line acceleration that you expect from a 650 hp car and lap well below expectations at Willow Springs.

Yes, but I don't know if GM delivers the car for testing that way. I also don't know if they lower the car. But, I distinctly remember Tadge saying in an interview (though I can't remember which one) that if they know the car will be on track during a test, they will give the car a track alignment.
All things considered, I think that is fair preparation on their part.

Definitely interested in a response on this. Also would like to know that as the engineering team revises the factory tune, if existing owners will be able to get updates.

+1 for Lawdogg149's question
Could you describe what occurred to the car that the media ran at road atlanta back in November 2014. It seems several magazines have quoted having the over heating issue but no one clarified if it was the trans or the engine oil. I know from my personal experience that my car did get pretty warm on a cold 40 degree day there a few weeks back. I and many people are concerned we will see issues come this summer without mods.
Please fell free to change the wording of the question but surely you get the drift of what I am trying to ask. What should we track people be looking out for as far as temps are concerned?

+1 good question
I'm interested especially in Z06 with Z07, doesn't GM offer this car with the intention that the "track" specific upgrades will be tracked? But with such a strong indication of overheating, will there be cooling systems upgrades available? As an add-on?
Thanks.

If Tadge can't answer the Q, I believe that DerStig will have the appropriate answer.
But yeah, for the track guys this is a concern...for me a street driver it is not a worry, and for 95%+ of those that buy this car it will not be an issue.
For those on the track that find overheating, like Pobst then there will be aftermarket solutions for your problem.

+1 for this question. This is the number one worry for me as an owner of a 2015 Z06 Z07.
Would GM be willing to beef up the hardware on these cars to run cooler? Several manufacturers offer cooling upgrades for cars designed for the track. Is it an option for GM to do the same? It would help even the cars that do not overheat, producing power more consistently, and reducing strain on major engine components. Regardless of the cost or dealer logistics I think many of us enthusiasts want to enjoy our Z car as it was intended. Track ready cars have to first and foremost run.
