We have seen some posts with unfortunate failures of some Z06 LT4 engine.

Even if the number does not seem to be high at this time, that is enough to make GM customers worried.

Did you identify a common point of failure in most of those cases and if yes, is there an easy fix being implemented or something we need to be aware of as owners?

To add to it, it looks like that all the engines issues were from what I have found all Z07, so human error???

Not pointing just asking ;-)

 

When this failure rate approaches 1%, we'll consider putting this up for vote. Until then: denied. Let's not start a "Chicken Little" event where there isn't one.

 

Of several that have been reported and follow up availalbe, it does seem the common thread is bearing failure. This points me to a lubrication related issue. Insufficient flow or pressure, lubricant capability or other related problem.

 

I tend to agree, but or and, it also seems to be occurring in cars with relatively low miles. My first suspicion might be a blockage of some type. BTW isn't the primary reason for the " 500 " mile oil change in the dry sump cars related to some assembly residue that might cause some problems with this very issue?
