[ASKED] C7 A8 Transmission and Torque Convertor Questions
1) A8 Transmission: a) what changes and/or redesigns were made to the newly released A8 transmission (new part#24274892)? b) what is the date Bowling Green began to use the new transmission in production?
2) Torque Converter: why was it necessary to release a redesigned torque converter this year (as referenced in document id: 4373638)? How does this affect owners that have the old torque converters?

Do that without any attitude in the question and I'll be happy to put it up for vote. Failing to do it will result in the thread being passed over.

Why even ask Tadge about "Improving Paint Finish on C7", the answer is obvious...they are building a new $400 million dollar paint facility..DUH!
The most important questions that must be asked and addressed have to do with;
1) A8 transmission failures
2) A8 torque tube failures
Both of these problems will have a major negative impact to both C7 owners & GM. In fact, I believe they are the most pressing issues facing the Bowling Green Team.
They demand an answer! If these two questions are not asked it will be a undeniable deserve to every C7 A8 owner.

Let's re-form this into a coherent question versus yelling at GM (and at me). Please edit your post and remove the comments regarding the forum, and instead focus a question regarding the transmissions.

It seem this A8 trans was rushed to market and met with several problems and GM wanted to deny deny deny and try every silly antic to get the trans to adapt, (see the drive and learn procedure that doesn't work) and no one at GM wanted to admit there was a problem. But my trans finally got replaced and all is good just took nearly seven weeks of aggravation with GM not the dealer they were great. and all of a sudden the part number for a 15 gets deleted and a new part number replaces it.

I see now that the question is directed to the A8 Stingrays & Z51 trans which I know the early ones had/have cooling issues. Although on the Z06 and all of the later models utilize the additional coolers to solve the over-heating issues. And I'm speaking specifically of trans over-heating not engine over-heating because those issues have yet to be solved.

Update
Update: Tadge is on business travel, and then I think he also is out on vacation. I don't know exactly when he'll be back in the office, so bear with me please. This will get answered, I'm just not sure exactly when. Thanks for your patience.

Scraping the splitter.
I am unaware of a single A8 Z06 overheating trans oil on-track and going into any type of shutdown as the A6 Z51 and pre-supplemental cooler A8 Z51's have. Even with ECT in the ~250* range and EOT at ~300*, trans oil temps will be in the 230's.
