The A 8 has been in the C7 since late 2013 . Four years later we are still seeing A8 related failures, especially torque converters. Some owners are reporting replacement failures. What is being done to improve the reliability of these transmissions ?
Thank you.

You're making a lot of broad and sweeping generalizations without and data to back it up. Tadge already answered a question about the A8 here. GM's warranty data doesn't seem to jive with what you're saying here.
Provide more examples or more data, if it's there, and we'll consider this further. Otherwise I'm just going to shut it down.

Actually, this is an incorrect statement. In 2013 the C7 shipped with the A6. The A8 wasn't introduced until the 2015 model year..

When I took my MY 2015 in for service in Sarasota Fl in Feb 2016 the shop foreman replaced my TC. I asked if this was a common problem with the A8.His comment to me was they anticipate 15% of the A8 would require replacing. In May 2016 the transmission needed replacement. That shop foreman had no knowledge of any issues. In Feb 2017 while at Stingray Chevfolet for another TC replacement I was told by the service department that they were seeing a lot of replacements, no numbers. I asked the parts department if they stock the TC and they indicated they do. A check with a couple of other large dealerships indicated they also stock TC's. This in of itself proves nothing . Because of my situation I have watched our forum board, the Internet and other model vehicle boards that also use the A8 , granted with different components. Several small surveys on our board , which are not scientific if,and I say if, they are even remotely accurate would indicate a continuing failure rate that is higher than industry standards or averages.
I don't think GM shares warranty data with the general public but if they do it would be very useful to see that info.
Your point is well taken. Perhaps the question would be better put as follows, " There are C7 owners of 2015, 2016, and 2017 MY cars posting about their A8 driveline problems and in some cases replacement components failing. Are their any engineering changes underway or anticipated that would result in a reduction of driveline related failure or are the failure rates small enough in numbers to be considered normal/acceptable"?
I just think it would be useful to get some comments from GM as driveline issues seem to me to be more prevalent on our board , and in many other places ,than any other component failure.
