As someone that tracks their C7 frequently, I am changing between wheel/tire set ups many times (streets, slicks, etc). I have OEM TPMS sensors in all of the wheels I use, however there have been a couple times that the TPMS sensors have not sync'd with the car during a track event, does the TPMS reading (PSI & temp) effect the cars performance in any way (specifically the eLSD)? The reason I ask, is during the times that I haven't been able to get my TPMS sensors to sync I feel like the car has trouble putting power down on corner exit and I can't help but think something may be going on with the eLSD. This could all easily be in my head though, which is why I'm asking.
Good question. I believe the PTM modes evaluate tire temperature to estimate available traction, so in the absence of that data it makes sense that the PTM might have trouble tailoring the power application to the available traction. I think a previous response mentioned some initial values set in for dry vs. wet, so it might be the car is defaulting to those and not making any modification based on tire temperature like it would with that information. Be good to hear an official answer from Tadge.
For me personally, I do not have PTM since I'm running non mag ride with coil overs on the track. Regardless, I think a confirmation on this would be great.
