Centerline Bookmatched Carbon Fiber Design
The original question is here.
skank asked:
It is very exciting to see centerline bookmatched carbon fiber detailing on the exposed CF parts of the ZR1. Having received a private tour of Horacio Pagani's Huayra by Horacio himself I was amazed by the complexity of the process. How is it possible to do this on the ZR1 when it's normally reserved for 2 million dollar plus cars? Can you also give the forum a primer on how it's done and difficulties of the process? Thanks

Interior Design and Fabrication Standards
The original question is here.
skank asked:
I'm very interested in the design, fabrication, and quality standards of the interior in the Corvette Line-up. Could you explain the process of utilizing companies such as Draxlmaier, Lear, JMP, Megatech, Magna, and Faurecia as partners in the fabrication of the Corvette interiors including instrument panels, switchgear, door panels, etc. I have debated with other sports car owners(Porsche) that the methodology of fabricating components with accurate tolerances by any of the above companies do not deviate whether manufacturing for Corvette or Porsche or any other high end manufacturer for that matter. The only difference is the material specifications relative to budget. It would be great to hear your perspective on the design and quality standards relative to your competitors.

3D Printing the Corvette
The original question is here.
skank asked:
I'm very interested in Team Corvette's usage of utilizing 3D printing to prototype complex parts before the actual confirmed designs are approved. Formula 1 utilizes 3D printing heavily for prototyping already. How does your team develop new part designs and are they still done with any conventional pattern making processes? The new GM engines look very hi-tech with all sorts of precision cast components and I assume Corvette leading the way will also have these precision standards going forward.
