The C8 has the standard wheel and tire size is 245/35 on 19-inch pieces up front, and 305/30 on 20-inchers at the rear. From what I have read. Where the the current C7 Grand Sport, Z06 and 2019 Corvette ZR1 feature the following wheels and tires: Front: 19×10-inch wheels wrapped in P285/30ZR19 rubber Rear: 20×12-inch wheels wrapped in P335/25ZR20 rubber. This would mean that the C8 has smaller (less wide less weight) and more side wall then the C7 Grand Sport , Z06 and ZR1 tires. So It should be less of problem. But will it be enough to stop the problem of bending and cracking. It also looks like a different wheel design. It would nice to know the thickness on the barrel and how it compared to the C7 GS, Z06 and ZR1 thickness. It would be nice to know if the new wheels are Flow Formed or Forged.
I agree and still hope to hear of forged wheels. I put Forgeline wheels on my 19GS
You will note the base C7 wheels didn't have the same rate of problems and among the reasons were taller tire sidewalls and not as wide wheels which is probably what we will find with the C8. What you need is the manufactures wheel strength and testing data as a cast wheel could be better than a forged wheel as it all depends upon materials, thickness, heat treatment, etc. which NOBODY supplies to the public to help with decision making. Forged wheels will also bend and can have cracked rims.
Chevy should offer a couple of wheel options, even if they have significant extra cost, that are forged and have extremely significant strength improvement. This should be a driver choice. If you’re just going to cruise in the car, then you might not care, but if you’re going to drive the car hard, or track the car, the stronger forged wheels may be a must have.
Plus, in the last couple of towns I’ve lived in, the roads are so bad that it would be nice to have the strongest wheels possible. A number of communities are just not maintaining their roads the way they should and potholes and other imperfections are a daily reality.

I asked at an event and they are cast NOT forged. I asked at two different events and same response. My understanding is the z51 wheels are forged in the c7. I think they mentioned this at the bash a few year back.
I can understand standard wheels not being forged since Chevy is so price conscious. However, it would be nice to have a forged factory wheel as an option for those who want it, and charge accordingly. Aftermarket wheels are all well-and-good but I’m surprised Chevy would want to lose that source of revenue as a significant minority of people would want forged wheels.
