I was looking at the option list for C8 and it appears in the wheel choices there are some that have a second set of spokes behind the normally positioned outer ones. Is this just an optical illusion or an effort to reduce wheel bending by providing more support to the inner portion of the rim barrel?
Are you talking about the standard wheels that have a "ghost" behind them? I think someone at GM had a placeholder for the wheel that didn't get removed. The black painted wheel is correct but the other wheel shows the "ghost".
In the dealer playbook there were several wheels that looked like the one you indicated. It looks like caliper clearance would be an issue but anything that reduces the bending issue would be welcome.
This picture is the one that coincides closest to what I was seeing. From this angle there is no doubt that there is only one set of spokes. Thanks. The other photos of the wheels only are deceiving.
I thought I’d throw this out there, maybe someone else can confirm. In the photo from the original post by Budd, the photo shows the rear wheels to be 20” x 10”. However, elsewhere in the forum someone posted the online ordering reference guide that shows the rear wheels to be 20” x 11”
