Default C8 DCT Programming Clutch wear

3 part question.

A- Please explain the wear and tear on the Clutch pack for the C8 while in gear and stopped in traffic..

B- Are the clutches slipping ever so slight to have the car ready to accelerate while you are stopped or is it in "neutral" until you release the brake?

C- Will the wearing of the clutches be covered under warranty as a clutch in the automatic trans? Ir will it be considered like the clutch wear in a manual?

Thanks

I cannot give you a technical explanation but my experience with dct - pdk transmission is that at a stop light the car remains in first gear unless you pull both paddle shifters at the same time to put the transmission into neutral. I never did because it didn't see a benefit. So the car is in first gear and there can be creeping if you take your foot off the brake. When I was ready to go I took my foot off the brake and accelerated. I don't believe there's any slippage. I don't know the warranty on the C8 but in the Porsche it was covered for 4 years/50,000 miles whichever came first.

bc, the clutch has to be slipping if the car is engaging 1st no? if that's the case and it is not in neutral while sitting still with your foot on the brake, then in turn that would be "wearing" the clutches wouldn't it? so is there a recommended amount of time to shift to neutral... just need to explain this whole DCT thing as corvettes are different than the exotics in that many actually get driven.. i know the PDK i stop notch in durability and reliability so is that what they did? or a completely different route. also curious about v8 v4 switching while cruising now that there is no torque converter clutch to pulse.. what is going to take its place??

So I had to dig into my memory bank since it's been 2 years since I had my 911S. I stand corrected there is no creepage when in 1st gear at a stop light. The DCT mimics a manual transmission in that at a stop light the transmission goes into neutral gear. When the light turns green and you step into the accelerator pedal the tranny engages 1st gear. There is a slight hesitation as if you were dropping the clutch and depressing the accelerator. (M7) The best way to imagine dct is that it is a manual without a a foot clutch.
Me and my buddies drive the snot out of our cars, we don't baby them. We live close to the front range outside of Denver where the roads are conducive to constantly going through the gears while accelerating and decelerating. Some of my friends even take their pdk to the drag strip at bandemere - no problem with pdk but there have been a few reports here and there.
Don't know about afm.

At a stop, 1st gear engaged, foot on brake, MOST DCTs disengages the clutch pack.

Don't know how the C8's DCT is programmed, but it would be monumentally STUPID if GM programmed it to stay in gear, with the clutch slipping. Just absolutely, ridiculously dumb if that's how it's engineered.
