Just bought a c4... NEED HELP!
ok, just bought a 84 vette.
It was driving great, but then I started messing around with stuff. There was a toggle switch under the dash, so i flipped it. There is some sort of keypad on the dash, to the right of the radio. It has the #'s 0-9, a # and * button. There is a blinking light at the bottom of this keypad also. After I switched the toggle switch that was under the dash, the car would no longer start. The light on the keypad is also blinking now, it never did that before. So I guess I somehow activated some sort of aftermarket alarm. I bought the car at an auction, so I dont know who the previous owner was to get help. Any ideas on how this thing is wired up? When I try cranking the car, the power to the starter is disabled. The car will not attempt to turn over. I know the tumbler is triggering like it should though because the power antenna starts to go down when I try cranking.

Follow the keypad wires under the dash and you should see them spliced into the ignition wire.
Just disconnect the keypad wires and re-connect the original ignition wires together and everything should start fine.

Sounds like an ignition kill. They were very popular in the early/mid 80's. My brother installed one on his Z28 Pace Car back then. It should start once you flip the toggle switch back. However, you may also have to punch in a code on that keypad. If that is the case and you don't know the code then simply uninstall the ignition kill system. It's probably very old anyway and may start doing you more harm than good. I'd just trash the thing.
