I know many will say replace it with aftermarket, but I like the stock look. I replaced the attenna last year, but there was small white electronic piece that was coroded in the wiring(resistor?) behind the drivers seat. What is this part?
Also I am puting in a new head unit. Bought it off ebay and the guy said I needed a code to activate the CD. Is this true and where can I get the code.
x 2 ... Only a few head units ever had "codes" and they were really sold in the early 90's....Blaupunkt and alpine both had versions if my cob web filled brain remembers right. Some pathetic attempt at car security, but either way, its not stock

Tons of stock head units have codes. Honda, Audi, Mitsubishi for starters. And starting at least in the early 80s and continuing today.

Thanks in advance.
A friend of mine had his Bose quit turning on in his J30. He found a place in Florida that rebuilds the head units for around $250. They did fast top quality work for him.
The Bose CD player in my J30T just took a dump on me last week. I'm not about to get mine fixed.
If you want I'll ask him tonight for the name of the shop. They probably know about the codes if there is a code to be known.
BTW, on a funny side note, my friend called up the Infiniti dealership and asked what the price was for a replacement Bose head unit for his J30 1993. They told him $1250! (head unit only).
That's right, $1250 for that piece of c##p!
I think we all know what kind of aftermarket double din unit we can buy for $1250 nowadays.
I just couldn't stop laughing when he told me that.
