C4 Storage Box Subthump Enclosure
Well, after a few months of Steve and I sending test boxes back to one another, he is now offering a prefab subwoofer enclosure for C4 owners. This box replaces the storage box ring and compartments, which is removed by taking out 6 bolts out, and pulling the whole assembly. The box just fits in right over it, covering both storage compartment cavaties. The left side cavity was left alone, since most C4's have the ABS stuff there, and the passenger side storage container holds the enclosure. It is built out of 1/2 MDF and is strong enough to jump on all day, and is now being sold on the Subthump.com's web site at http://www.subthump.com/c4vette.htm
This first enclosure type can take either a 8" or 10", depending on which you order from Steve. He can try to color match your carpeting, but we all know how hard that can be if you have even slighly sun faded carpet. You might just want to call him about options on that if you are interested. The box will also just be offered without any carpeting, so you can apply whatever you want to it.
This box is only for adding bottom end to either your original Bose setup, or whatever else you may have running already if you have gone aftermarket. But dont expect to knock out your front windsheild, or get a ticket from the cops with the output from this enclosure, as it is meant to extend the low end sound, not win sound competition trophies.
Certainly, this is at least more of an option than what I had when I originally just wanted to buy an off the shelf answer to a sub box in my C4. So I just happened to contact Steve since he already made C5 boxes, and we came up with this answer. I make no money off of this, and with the complexity of the cuts he has to do to make this box, I dont know how HE is making money off of this, but you'll be the benefactor either way.
