Default Alpine Vs Kenwood

I KNOW this is a big ask; but is their anyone out there who's had both an ALPINE head unit AND a KENWOOD who'd like to put forward their learned and unbiased oppinion on which is overall the better unit?

MY biggest concern is that my '85 C4 rides SO hard that both the 'el-cheapo' units I've had skip something chronic (As in, very tempting to put a large hammer thru them!!!)

SO; do tell please...

I may have not owned a Kenwood myself in my 86 or 92, but Ive had many Alpines. Either of those brands of head units havent had skip issues to my knowledge.

Any head unit of reasonable quality won't skip, if you secure it. S

have had both, an Alpine 7998, and IVA-801, and now a Kenwood DDX-7015...i like my kenwood better than the IVA for multimedia, but if i was going go with a regular deck, i like Alpines selection better...if Alpine would actually come out with a double din LCD/DVD deck that read more than ~200 tracks i might go back, but for now my Kenwood is doing a very good job, sounds good, does not skip and feels solid

I've had both, more then once. Both are quality lines (in general) and will work well relating to skipping. Forced to choose, the Alpines tend to behave alittle better, a tad more polished, but Kenwood gives you slightly more bang for the buck. My 2 cents....
