Default C5 3 way components

How many people have installed a 3 way component system(6,4,tweet) in their C5 corvette? Where did you mount everything? Can it all mount behind the speaker grills in the doors? Does anybody have any pictures of their installs? Thanks

Yes. It will work... just requires some creative cutting to make the baffle.

Nelson V. has done this, and you wouldn't know until you heard it. The install is totally stealth.

I would recommend CDT 3-ways. They come very highly recommended. If you can find Canton Pullman RS3s on eBay, get them.

I had a set of MB Quart 8",4", and tweeter in mine behind the grill. The only problem I had was blocking the tweeter with my leg. Other than that it was sweet. THe C5 has a ton of room in the door.

I put the CDT 643 in my car. I got VrumVrum http://forums.corvetteforum.com/member.php?u=42258
a forum member to make me a mounting plate to fit behind the speaker grill. I place the 6 and 4 behind the grill and put the tweeter in the door. The hardest part is getting the nerves to cut the doors for the tweeters.

Crossover points between these three drivers are handled with a "roll-your-own" network of passive components (capacitors, inductors and a couple L-pads). Tweeter and Mid are one amp channel; mid-bass on its own amp channel. Crossover between mid-bass and subs is handled with an active crossover in my in-dash PEQ.

EDIT- Here's a sketch I've been working on; this is one half of the drivers/amplification:
