Default 97 Coupe Speakers??

Hello all,

I would like a little more meat out of my Bose system so in addition to adding a stealth box in the rear compartment- what can I do to the doors and the rears? I understand that the Bose 8" in the doors are powered so I would leave them alone...but would like to put some nice speakers in the non powered spots...

My question: what fits the doors? 3.5's
what fits the rears 6.5's

can I just remove these stock speakers and bolt in new ones, or will I have to have a new mount made...

Thanks!

The doors have a 8" woofer and a smaller mid range. I ordered
some of vrumvrum's door mounts along with one of his
HU mounts.

Doors will take most 6.75" or smaller Component speaker sets.
If you give Vrumvrum the dims for the cutouts he will cut them
for you

Here's a link to what he makes

PM him and he'll email you costs etc.

byte_me,
The Bose "pods" in the doors combine the two speakers (such as they are) with an amplifier module in one integrated unit:

Door mounts will give you a way to completely replace these pods, and mount something else, like two-way speakers, or components (a mid and a tweeter). There's plenty of room:

It sounds like you are already buying an amplifier for a sub in the back? If so, why not buy a four channel and use the second channel to run new speakers in the front? Even a half decent set of two-ways in the front will sound better than the Bose stuff, especially since you can use a high-pass filter or equalizer to restrict the bass to your sub.

uhm, why would you want to restrict bass to the subwoofer with a high pass filter? Just wondering

Doh! What I was thinking was, use a high pass filter on your (new) front speakers, since you have a sub for the bass. Natch, you'll also want a low pass for the sub, or equalize it from the amp.
