Will this work? I have a stock C5 HU and a bazooka powered subwoofer. My plan is to splice a set of RCA cables into the HU pre-amp output wiring harness and plug it into the sub. I will use connector C4, wire (11) LR Brown, (12) RR Dark Blue, and (14) Bare wire for both common. Will the signal work? Thanks!

Some feel there is not a full signal coming out of the rears. So I would tap the fronts just to be safe. In my tests with different speakers, it certainly sounded like I was getting full range, and could even get them to overwhelm the fronts, but others have had different experiences.
Have you seen this Tech Tip? Bose Wiring Tips
It really doesnt matter if it is full range or not for what he is doing. Its not like Bose is going to have the foresight to bandpass their lower fequency drivers so they dont recieve fequencies below 120hz. Thats an easy way to go for sure! There are some inline plugin RCA line level converters that www.p-a-c.com makes. Its in the OEM interface section of the site.
Also, depending on what model of Bazooka tube you have, it may already have line level inputs built in, which well negate the use of wiring in actual RCA conectors to the tube amp. That way, if you dont want to pull your deck nor pull the wires to the amplifier completely out, you could just wire the signal inputs to the tube from the speakers themselves. Either way will work.
THANKS GUYS! I hooked up the bazooka last night. The install was easy. It sounds much better. I'm going to replace the front 3.5" and rear 6.5" speakers this weekend. Thanks again.

Did you use your original plan to tap into the HU preamp outputs to get a bass signal for the Bazooka? I'm just curious because I recently tried to tap into the front and rear twiddlers to supply a bass signal to a Bazooka and the low end signal wasn't present in any of the signals coming from the Bose amps that went to the stock twiddlers.

Sorry to revive a 20 year old thread, but had to thank the original poster, ComeCorrect. I had the same question, followed your advice, and it worked beautifully. You saved me a lot of headaches using this method to tap in RCA outputs to my subwoofer. Thanks again!

Is it correct in my connection in the picture? It is hard to see in your photo, can I use a black wire for ground instead of a wire in a transparent braid?
