Din Conversion Kit
I've recently purchased a 96 without the Bose stereo. It's just got the stock tape-deck. I'm going to buy a new single din unit soon (alpine), and I feel relatively comfortable installing it myself. With that said, the only thing I'm unsure about is the 2 din to 1 din conversion kit. Anyone have any advice? I'd ideally like my deck to sit up high and have a little storage space underneath, but like to buy something off the shelf. Is there anything out there like this?
PS - I don't want to mess with the speakers, etc. Just the receiver.

As I understand it, there are two mounting kits available for the later C4s. One places the radio about in the middile of the opening, with spacers on top and bottom. The other (Metra) puts the radio on top and gives you a DIN-sized pocket for the bottom. Metra is what I went with, don't have the model number handy but can get it. The Metra is also the only one that will allow the installation of two single-DIN items (some cutting may be required).
