Yesterday I was sitting in the parkinglot listening to music before I went into work. Well just suddenly the music turned to static....on all channels. It's not like it started getting bad and got worse. It just suddenly cut out. I now have no radio reception period. I don't think there is anything wrong with the radio head unit since there is still power to it and I can go through all its features and whatnot. Do you guys think mabe something came unpluged, or what?
prob have to pull the radio and see. the antenna plugs in the back... if its fine then you'll have to trace it back to the antenna, that would prob be a PITA. this is assuming your antenna is still extending when you turn your power on? i would think i wodl check the back of the radio first, its easy to get too and not much work jsut in case its as simple as that...

I have to hit the passenger side of the console right by the radio and it works fine. Not the antenna since I have had the radio out and checked the connections.
Hi.
I have an 85 with radio problems also.
What you say static is that without any noise or sound at all? My radio cuts out the channels and I have white noise as being out of the stations. This comes and goes. The clock also jumps. Has anybody had the same?

just white noise soudsn like you are loosing your antenna, but if the clock is jumping that sounds like power inturrupt. maybe youare loosing power wand when you do your presets are reset and it goes to a frequency with no channel, hence teh white noise?
