I'm installing my new amplifier on the rear wall of a c5 coupe and was wondering:
What length of rca cable from the headunit to the rear wall?
What route did you use?
I was thinking about running the rca's straight back under the console and the power on the passenger side. I was thinking that 11-12ft should do it, but until you're there...
I've answered just about all my questions by reading nearly every post on this section, so thanks for the help (before and now)...
The only way to really know is to do a mock-up.
You might also think about using a pre-amp or line driver if your HU preouts have less than 2 volts or so.
I was hoping that someone who has already ran the cables would chime in with which length they used. In an attempt to optimize sound quality, the shortest is the best IMHO.
For my home system I hand build all my cables, but for the car I'm not so convinced that would be the way to go. If someone's went that route, I'd be interested to here about that as well.
i just installed my amp in the rear of the Z and a 16' cable was stretching it but i routed it around the pass floor board then down the pass side back into the trunk i think if you got a 20' cable you will be fine.
