I am installing my JVC 12 disc rf modulated cd changer in my 85 coupe. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and if so how did you mount your control unit? I am thinking of making something to slide into the cassette player to hold the controller. Anyone have pics of how they mounted it? Also, how did you route the cable to the rear compartments? I am thinking of mounting the changer in the rear compartment behind the drivers seat. Any pics of installed components would be appreciated.
I think ive mounted one of those controllers on just about any place you can imagine at one time or another in various vehicles. Are you one of those guys who switches out the cd's alot? If not, one of the storage areas are plenty of room. Hell, you can even lock it if your paranoid. Ive even seen people do the breadbox delete and put a changer there, since the kit for it from MAD is $50...so its not a lot to invest in a neat mod. Ive put controllers on steering wheels, rear view mirrors, sunvisors....really anywhere. I guess its up to you how you want it to look, which is only the real deciding factor for the most part. You'll just have to get to intercept the wiring between the head unit and antenna, wether it be behind the head unit or in the drivers side rear hatch area.
