Did i fry my deck?
I am wondering if some one out there can give me some advice and tell me what the hell i did wrong.
To begin, i have a 2002 coupe with the delco/bose setup. I wanted to just add a sub w/ a mono amp and 7/8" tweeters in the front. Some of you may remeber a previous thread i wrote about wiring my tweeters. Anyhow, I went and bought an AudioLink Pd-2 And harness,a Rockford fosgate p3001 mono amp and an Alpine type s 12" sub.Ok, so i wired everything accordingly except the ground and power for the amp. I had it this way for about a week and the stereo worked fine until today i finally got around to hooking the + and - cables to there respective spots. I then went into the car to give a listen only to get serious distortion from my speakers and a serious lack of volume. I think i fryed out my deck, but i have no clue why it would have been from hooking up the power to the amp. I checked everything with a multi meter and found that i am not getting any voltage from the remote wire to the Audiolink. And i am also getting a reading of 0.8 vdc between the ground wires at the audiolink( there are two grund connections. one from the chasis of the deck and one from the harness)I checked all my fuses, non were blown.ANy advice would be a greeat help. The last thing i want to do is go take it back to chevy. THanks a bunch
1. Which speakers are not putting out much sound, the OEM mids/highs? or you sub?
2. Are referencing voltages from the head unit's power lead to the Audiolink from the frame of the head unit, or the Audiolink's ground - or are they commonly sharing a ground together? I know you kinda told that part already, I just want to be clear on it.
3. Is the volume just really low, or garbled/distorted where you can barely understand the music?
4. Any strange behavior from the head unit?
5. What is the voltage for the head unit's main power lead - with respect to the grounding of the measurment to the frame of the car (or equilivent.
6. I havent looked over what is in the wiring bundle your working with, but is it possible you have the illumniation wire going to the Audiolink instead?
7. Have you tried removing all of your wireing and then seeing how the head unit/oem amps behave?
8. Have you independantly powered the Audiolink from a different 12 volt source? (as from a different circuit alltogether).
9. Have you done a continuity test between the ground the head unit shares with the frame/subframe of the car? How about continuity from the head unit and another seperate grounding source (such as a bolt located in the frame somewhere else than you are working with)
I am probably missing something, if someone can look over my suggestions and concour or add?
We'll get ya figured out.

But there is a different "problem" at hand. I know that it has been answered on here before but i figure i might as well ask and maybe someone can point me in the right direction. When i turn my deck off it still sends remote signal to the amp for a few seconds resulting in a loud sustained bass hit and then it finally cuts out. I read it could be the ground but all my grounds are solid espcially the one to the amp(i grounded to the seat post.) Any suggestions?

Everything is run correct like and double checked. i am stumped. this used to happen on and off with my old car.
