Default Do I have to cut harness # C4?

I think the harness #C4 is for the Bose subwoofer feeds. I'm trying to wire to it using a "universal direct splice in", but I'd like to do it cleanly if they have an aftermarket harness for it. Or will I have to cut it?

What exactly are you trying to do?

Have you read this tech tip?

If you are just trying to get a full-range pre-amp signal then you can use one of these on the wires mentioned at the bottom of the above tech tip.

There is a harness available that plugs in between the HU and the C4 plug that has wires coming out of it that have the signals you want. Search isn't working right now and I can't seem to find it with a search of the internet Anyway, a C5 Bose specific harness would be ideal, but a "universal direct splice in" would work if you cut the right wires.

OK, found the link....

What you want is a AOEM-VET1 kit from Pac-Audio (or something similar).

I found it here for $60 with a quick search.

Hi guys... I'm thinking about adding a sub to my stock Bose HU. First of all, thanks to those of you who have taken your time to explain on this GREAT forum the process of how this should be done.

My question is, do I need to remove the HU in order to install the AOEM-Vet 1 interface system or can this be connected without removing the HU?
