Keep in mind that I will be running the sub Bridged 4 ohm 1 x 500 RMS
For what its worth, I own the exact same Alpine R 12" sub you are looking at, and I run 1x500 @ 2 ohm as a daily driver, and sometimes for my home subwoofer. Its in a 1.5 sealed enclosure and its enough to get me pulled over by the local cops, if that says anything. And the Alpine I bought was like, $20 on ebay. The guy who sold it said it didnt work, but when I got it here, it worked fine. They're hearty subs, and I give mine alot of punishment. So take this as you may.
Ikesound isnt bad, ive never delt with them, but all I hear is good things, and im on several audio forums. Crutchfield, is a whole different bear though, they jack up prices. I guess its to pay for their pretty catalog which they send out to everyone on the planet.
You do realize the new Alpine R's just came out, and have a different surround on them that is similar to the Alpine X. I have no idea what they're going for, but im sure its around the $200 mark.
Have you considered looking at the non-mainstream drivers that smaller companies offer? There is some good stuff out there for a really decent price, so you can actually get what you pay for. Some names that come to mind are RE, Elemental Designs, Adire, Soundsplinter, Massive, Planet Audio, Powerbase, Stryke, TC Sounds, Digital Designs, and Treo. All stuff that you probably wont find on an online audio outlet..but way better stuff then the made for the masses equipment from the giant companies.
For anyone looking at upgrading subs, I SERIOUSLY suggest checking out www.realmofexcursion.com 's video section. That way you can see some of the equipment in action. You'll also see some other C4 member's video's on there as well as mine.

Hes definitely right about that. Even go to some of your local audio retailers, thats how I got turned onto MMATS, and then eventually got turned on to IASCA and USACi.
Out of the companies he listed, ED, DD and Adire make brilliant subs, and the Adire 8" midbass driver is in my opinion the best on the market, yet youll find very few people who know about em.
Always do your research before you go and blow a wad on a system.
But really, they're not all that bad subs. Ive never owned one, but they're just too pretty for me
