CD Changer connector location - HELP!!
I don't have a CD Changer so there is no wiring in the rear of the car. I read that there is supposed to be two unused connectors in the passenger footwell, but WHERE?
Any detailed explanation would be great - a picture would be WONDERFUL!!
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think by footwell, they mean the side storage spaces in the back, on the sides of the much larger, center storage area, where the CD changer would have been, had you had one.
I looked under the carpet in botht he center area, and then the passenger side footwell, if that's what it is. I did find wires in the passneger side trunck storage, but nothing for the stereo.
I was speaking with a fairly knowledgable friend who says "no, they didn't run the wires back there if unless they were putting in a CD changer."
So, I think I'm just going to take the console off and go directly to the back of the radio.
If i'm wrong, someone please let me know soon.
Hope this helps.

In the fuse panel on the passenger side slot 22 is not used and goes hot when the car is on. If you go to Parts America and ask for a Mini Blade add a circuit fuse holder $9.95 you can power the I-pod from there. Hope this helps
The two port plugs should be there, but one of them may be difficult to locate because it's taped up against a wiring harness and if it's like my Z, it might be tucked up inside the plastic panel on the far right. See pics below; both pics are of the fusebox area (passenger side footwell); the front protective panel has been removed.
The two port plugs for attaching the COR-HAR CD-changer harness are located in the lower right hand corner of the pic (the colored wires that you see, those are the port plugs!)
In this pic, both of the port plugs are connected to the COR-HAR CD-changer harness; the one up front is easy to distinguish, it has three wires: ORANGE, GREEN, STRIPED wires, the one in back is not shown that well in this pic but it's there; see the blue plastic in the middle, that is the very bottom part of the second port plug. Notice how the taped harness is extending from the carpeting in the lower right, this port plug was taped up and tucked inside of the carpeting...it was a BEOTCH to undo but I managed to undo it
One end of the COR-HAR CD-changer harness connects to the two port plugs, the other end connects to the AB-GM10 cable which connects to your iPod adapter box. If you don't have the COR-HAR harness, you will need to modify your AB-GM10 cable (instruction should be supplied with your iPod adapter), and hopefully you received an AB-GM10 cable with your iPod adapter
Hope this helps...
If you want a couple more shots showing a test configuration of all of the cables, I can post that later on when I get home...don't have access to my pics at work!

in my search I also found something that is not connected to anything, the metal tip end was just hanging out behind my head unit,
any ideas what it's for, or if it's supposed to be connected to something? (or if it's supposed to be there at all) it does seem to be coming from inside the factory tape though.....

Also, someone had put a "custom" system in at one time and then cut it out. here's what I have pulled out from front to back of my car so far......
You're welcome!
The cable with the metal tip looks to me like an AM/FM cable which plugs into the rear of the head unit. I'm wondering if you may have pulled it loose accidentally? Turn on your AM/FM radio and see if you can still pull in any radio stations
The other batch of wiring definitely looks like aftermarket stereo cables, the thick red cable is most likely a power cable, the clear cables are speaker wires, etc.
