Please advise.....which tube size did you use and was it powered with internal amplification? Also how did you mount as I'm looking for something simple and easy to remove when extra space is needed. Lastly, is your system Bose?
After market electric items do not run well in c5's or c6's. At the very least they drain the batt. early. If it doesn't plug in to the cig. lighter don't mess with it.GM HAS SET IT UP THIS WAY!Most after market audio shops don't have a clue!

I used a 5 channel Kicker Amp, replaced the stock speakers with Focal 5 1/4" rears (factory size) and 6.5" fronts on a custom plate to replace the factory 10" and mid, the rear ahs one Solobaric L7 8" woofer for now. The amp and LC6 are currently mounted behind the passenger seat but will soon be mounted in the rear of the trunk if I don't get the Z06 first... It does take a couple inches away from the passenger's leg room which I don't like - but I've ridden on that side with someone else driving and at 6' I still fit OK.
Nice part about the LC6 is you don't need a turn on wire - it has a current sensing 'slow' turn on (to prevent popping) that will turn the LC6 on and then send power to the amp just based on feeling a speaker signal coming from the head unit.

I wish I could help, but I didn't do the install myself. One of the problems they had was that some circuits did not come on or turn off when you think they should. Probably related to the car's security and other high tech systems.
When the new sub comes in this week, I will attempt to do the replacement myself. It won't be plug and play, since I'm sure some of the connectors have changed in 10 years. If I can, I'll try and make note of the wiring and let you know.
Wow man!
That would be soooo great! I will PAY you if you can give me that info!
My earliear reply didn't seem to work so here it is again.....Please advise on the following questions:
1. Is the tube amplified?
2. What size sub?
3. How did you mount as I want to easily be able to remove when extra space is needed for cargo.
4. Are running BOSE system?
I'm trying to improve overall sound quality with an inexpensive and simple solution. Before I get lots of negative feedback, I have in other cars spent $10's of thousands on custom systems. I don't want to mod this car too much for sound purposes. I have the 1SA/non BOSE system and it really lacks tonal quality or fullness. My local sound shop, while very good and respected, haven't worked on a C6 and I don't want mine to be the first. Again I'm looking for a simple, cost effective solution and thought the tubes might be the answer.

Thanks for any feedback.
You are in a similar situation as myself. I have the 1SA system. I also just got a complete C6 Bose system with head unit, amp, and speakers. It is becoming a MAJOR chore to deal with the connectors. In fact, NO ONE has the male connector required to make a converter cable from the 24pin non-bose system to the Bose amp. I am going to have to re-pin to make it happen. Also, the units are so integrated with the car via a class 2 serial connection, it has to be done in one large move. Secondly, the Bose system has powered subwoofers which is the other big chore. Getting the power to them is going to require running some lines. Debating at this point whether or not it is going to be worth my time. FLC6's car is a 1SB car and I think he still has the factory system in it.

I'm using a 6" amplified Bazooka. I don't think the 8" will allow you to put the roof in back. The Bazooka has a quick disconnect electical adapter, and comes with mounting straps that are also easy to undo. You can pull the Bazooka out in just 10 seconds. The rest of the system is stock 1SB.
Here's a picture of the old one, I replaced this with a new one, and put in the right corner, instead. The tubes are more efficient shooting into a corner.
Thanks for the replies. Sounds like those of us with the 1SA setup are left to sound misery or a full audio exchange. I guess it's a good thing I have the Borla Stingers to listen to instead.
By the way, I'll stay tuned for additional posts on how/if the BOSE conversion works.
I'll let you know if/when I get the connectors. I got all the equipment yesterday but without the connectors, it will be an uphill battle. Crossing my fingers.
So Cerino....where did you get the BOSE equipment for the C6. I hope you didn't pay too much of a premium as aftermarket equipment may offer a better alternative given what you have described so far.
Anyway, I appreciate keeping us/forum members informed.

I got the 6-disk head unit, the amp, and all 7 Bose speakers including the powered subs for under $400 delivered. If I can get the connectors (which I am working on) then it should be worth it. I don't mind doing the work. I can get the connectors I need through GM but I am hoping to get them from the same guy I got the equipment from before I go that route.
I'll tell you what, all of the aftermarket companies, PAC etc..are real negative about the C6 system cause it is so integrated into the car itself. The guy at metra told me that if you remove the factory head unit, you are hosed cause it is required by the computer. Without it, the computer gives you a hard time. That's why so many of them only offer a way for you to add something like an IPod as opposed to being able to completely remove the existing. On the C5, it was much easier to deal with. Just the OnStar kinda stuff had to be dealt with. In C6, the radio itself is a part of the computer system.
