My first full install. Took 5 days. lol At least I know it's all done right and it all works well.
VrumVrum's headunit mounting bracket, trim plate, and door speaker mounts are worth twice what I paid. Excellent craftsmanship. I honestly haven't been this impressed with an automotive part in a long time.
Subthump's box is also excellent. The 10w6 fit in perfectly. I love the Corvette lettering in the box carpet!
The only things left are to complete the "fit and finish" on the area around the box and hardmount the amp. I want to do up a nice amp rack so that will take some time.
Here's the pics:
Sorry no pics of the headunit turned on. I tried to take several shots of the screen graphics but they all came out poorly. The 9855 is a beautiful piece. Lots of useful and nifty features. The glidetouch bar takes some getting used to and doesn't work as you'd expect it to. It actually works more like a conventional button layout, but with the added ability to scroll through choices. Hard to explain. But after some training it is pretty handy.
Gary: VrumVrum's plate is a pretty solid mount agaist the HU chassis. Turns out I it doesn't need support from the back at all! You're idea is a good one for others though.
And I added dynomat around all the speakers. I need to add some to the trunk lid since the sub is aimed right at it.
Yeah, vrum's h/u bracket just arrived. Really great quality. Can't wait to install this weekend. I'm not doing the whole speaker and sub upgrade, just the head unit right now with the Soundgate adaptor.
