Speaker swap?
I want to upgrade my speakers on my 2000 coupe without any modifications. Any suggestions on which would work best with the stock head unit? I've heard Alpine, JL, Pionerr, Memphis, Polk and many others. I'm very confused! Anyone know which I would get the best bang for the buck and which are the least hassle to switch? I posted on Audio but they are slow to respond. More traffic here. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure..Not sure where you are from and I'm new to the country...Eclipse speakers are very popular though..Fosgate will also work and I know Best Buy sells them..You'll need the punch series and not the power series if you go with Rockford Fosgate..I would recommend more but being new to the country I can't yet say were you can get them except Fosgate..Fosgate are very good and a fair price..

Shouldn't be any different..Just replace the speakers and as long as the size and depth along with the wires work; your good to go.

If you wanted to get some good overall better sound, I would recommend changing the deck which is a cheap add-on, but not everybody wants to get rid of the factory deck..I Never leave anything factory in my cars as I think the sound sucks and I like my bass..I hit 151.5db last Sept. in Canada..which is where I'm from.

Have you ever upgraded the bose speakers without changing out the head unit? I'm sorry but i'm fairly certain it can not be done without changing the head unit. But if there's a way aroudn it i'd love to know as well.

Its a valid question! I believe the front speakers contain built-in amps, so it makes no sense that replacing stock "amped" speakers with regular after-market ones (without amps) will work. Can anyone that knows what they are talking about answer the question?????
