I have an 85, and decided to put my 3.5" dynaudio tweeters in the dash and the mids in the doors---after finding out what a headache building kickpanels are. Now I gotta figure out how to mount the tweeters in there. The tweeter is 4.5" wide end to end, the actual speaker hole needs to be 3.5" wide and approx 2.5" deep. Does anyone make a speaker install kit or would like to make me a set, the dashboard and speaker screens will cover them of course. I would love to get something for my 6.5"'s for the doors as well, but I removed the bose, so there is nothing there in the doors to mount speaker to....I would pay someone fairly to make them too!! If you have any negative comment or suggestion, please don't post them here, this is just an offer for someone else to design and build, My installer is the slowest guy in the world, and I'd be worried he'd take forever building these and charge too much (I'm already paying him around $400 to install the stereo alone) I'm willing to pay, I'm sure some of you have done your own speaker install panels, I currently do not have my car---still in the performance shop....so basically I'll supply the sizes and you come up with the design.
ps..Here are the things he's installing for me, Mcintosh 4000m, 2 IDmax 10's d2v3, dynaudio component set bridged off 4 channels on amp, alpine 1005 indash tv/brain, alpine processor unit/controller, alpine 12disc changer.
