in my ever evolving computer system in my car i have finally found an empty amp case to mount my computer in. the problem with this is that it wont allow me the space to mount a pic soundcard so i'm looking for other alternatives. The computer has onboard sound that i want to pipe to an external x-over/linedriver I dont think i would be able to set up an eq well enough to see an advantage so i'm eliminating that (as of now). So I was thinking about going with the audio control 24xs: http://mobileaudiocontrol.com/produc...1&l1=5251&l2=#
has anyone used this product?
i like the time alignment feature and the 5v output.
do you guys have any other suggestions? (Maybe something with digital inputs)
Very nice product. You will not go wrong with anything Audiocontrol. Another piece to look at is the DQXS. That will give you the EQ you need for future tuning. I have a DQS sitting here that never made it into the current system. I might use it with the new system...not sure yet.
After talking to you and checking out in car computers I was wondering about xover and eq selection. There is nothing software based you can use? I have seen software eq's but the guy that had it was using it in his mixing studio and said the program was big bucks. I am about to order two computers from mp3car.com and am about to start the research on eq software or should I go to an external piece. Let me know what you come up with.
as far as you're concerned:
check out kxproject.com as long as you have a soundblaster pci card it'll give you pretty good results. it practically lets you rewire the card via the software. it has an equalizer and other great features. My problem is that i dont think i can use a pci card when i install the motherboard in the amp case.
