Radar Detector External Antenna
Has anyone thought about modding their radar detector with an external antenna? Maybe one for the front and one for the rear of the car. I'm not even sure if this can be done but it would be interesting. Then you could mount the unit anywhere.

There are a few companies that make radar detectors that do that already. K40 is one that has front and rear sensors that are designed to be mounted outside the car and a very hideable control unit....three LED's and a ****. I believe Bell has one also. I know K40 is not the only unit but I can not recall the others. I have installed several of the K40's though and they work very well.
Changing a standard dash mount radar detector would most likely cost less but not perform nearly as well and take alot of work to make it up to the standard of a product designed to that.
