Default Mounting stock 12 disc cd changer

Can the stock cd changer be mounted in the right smaller storage area in the truck, instead of the center storage area? Is there enough room? Has anyone mounted a cd changer anywhere other than the larger center storage area?

According to the guy I bought mine from, he said he had it mounted in that "bin" without problem.

For me, what I didn't like no matter where I tried to put the changer was all the methods to attach the mounting bracket vertically on the rear panel, like stock. There wasn't room on my car for any solid mounts, i.e. the frame is right up against the panel negating bolts, screws, rivet, and nut setters--without drilling into the frame.

Hence, I made a vinyl covered wooden panel to put in the center bin that lifts out to get to the lower area, and it allowed the changer to be mounted horizontally on rubber atop the covered board.

All the best.

Avanti, thanks for the help. I have yet to install my disc changer, but I'm thinking the same as you. Maybe the wooden panel is the way I'll go.
