I don't know anything specific about the model you're looking at, but I've always been happy with the Bel detectors. I'm on my third one in a row now, it's a 975R.

. It is a good unit but has been described as the chicken little of radar detectors 
. At this time the new Bell pro is ranked the best. I have one and it is GREAT!!
