Default Electric travel coolers

I'm looking for an electric cooler for road trips. I'm still totally up in the air about the size, but I know I'd like it to be quiet.....and a built in power inverter would be nice so I can plug in other accessories too. (gps, cell, laptop) If you have a cooler you've been happy with, please tell me about it.

I purchased one from a local discount place called job lot. It is a 'Veleco" brand. It holds a decent amount, and is relatively quiet. The only bad thing so far is that you have to have it running for approx. one hour before you are supposed to use it for cooling...

I have one from Wal Mart..sorry do not recall the brand but it looks like a little center counsel with a padded top. Very quiet and works great.

I got the small Vector cooler/warmer at Target. It looks like a small silver fridge (it's not the 4 gal model, closer to 1.5 gal). It works great, is relatively quiet, and it came with a 12VDC adapter that you can plug into a standard wall outlet in your house, then plug the cooler into the adapter. It lets you get it up/down to desired temp before putting it in the car.

Mark, getting it cooled before putting it in the car seems like it'd come in pretty handy, especially for someone like me that opens the cooler a lot during the beginning of a road trip, and can't wait for it to cool down. I tend to drink most of my caffeine during the first two hours of a road trip while I'm getting settled into putting on the miles, and after that, I rarely open the cooler.

Same Thing here. I ran a power outlet back to the trunk and went off of a fuse that turns off when the motor is off. Do not want to drain the battery when you get out. It works GREAT!!
