I replaced my DD3510Cs with a pair of IDMAX 10s. They are much taller and have a slightly larger cutout so the only thing i could do without rebuilding my box was to build a pair of spacers. I machined some spacers out of 1 1/4" thick acrylic blocks. I have not decided if i am going to polish them or leave them hazy yet...
I assume the blurry picture is when you had the system crankin'
i was trying to get a picture where you can see everything with less flash as the box is black but with a flash it makes it look a lot lighter than it really is, it came out alright with really the box the only thing in focus
these are much more SQ oriented then the DDs. They have a Fs that is about 12 hz lower and can produce the low notes much cleaner and louder. They DDs are very nice woofers but i really needed a slightly bigger box then i have room for, but they can handle more power then the IDmaxs. I am somewhat pushing it with 1000 watts to each one which is the RMS so i am breaking them in slowly and not trying to go overboard yet. overall i am very happy with the switch as my system is more SQ oriented with my 3 way front stage actively xoved by my Audiocontrol DQX which also has a 30 band eq which is still currently flat as i have not had the time or a real mic to RTA it and tune it properly.
