Default please help! c5 wiring

i'm trying to install my XM tuner and i need to find constant power in the pass footwell but i don't have my voltmeter or a test light.
i found a small harness section with a connector tucked in the upper left hand corner. it has 3 wires: black, orange, yellow. usually this combo by itself is a good sign so i unplugged the connector and pulled one end out as far as i could. i started unwrapping the electrical tape from the factory and i found the yellow wire on the end that i pulled doesn't go anywhere, it's just about a 2" long piece that was covered under the tape. what is this and can i tap into it?
if this one isn't good, can someone please tell me exactly where i can tap into? a pic would be awesome. i've read other threads that say in the pass footwell but can't really tell where exactly to tap.
thanks!

The three wires you found are exactly what you're looking for

Most people know about the 'accessory wires', but can't find them. You apparently found them without knowing they were there

The wires are explained in your owners manual, but you can click here to check out the schematic for them. The yellow wire is the switched power wire, orange is always hot, and black is the ground.

thanks Mark. since i couldn't get a quick answer i went to my shop manual and started looking at the schematics. i never was able to find the one in your shortcut.
so, i started looking at the BCM and found wire A4 on C3 is a constant hot fused wire and tapped into it. hopefully it's OK to do this , my XM tuner works fine. for ground, i tapped into the hatch latch motor harness in the back.
thanks!
