I am getting ready to order this new product from JL. It will allow me to keep the stock HU and provide a mechanism to add amps and adjust frequencies and levels etc. Has anyone tried this yet? The unit looks fairly large. Don't have a price on it yet. They will begin shipping them any day now but my stereo shop has not received one yet although they already have orders out. Thought someone in a larger metro area may have already gave it a try?
JL came by there and gave a demonstration, store seems pumped becasue now they can do many more sales to those like us that are stuck with stock units because of the Delco/Bose integration for other systems other then audio.

From what I have seen and read that is going to be the ultimate factory upgrade product. I have not used one either but have been researching it for months. I think it is going to work very well.
it is an expensive adaptor, but should be worth every cent if you want to keep the factory HU. It definitely would be useful for the new C6 owners since that HU is tied into the cars computers.
The rep still has not called him back on availability of the Clean Sweep but the price is around $390 retail. I'll get it for some less then that. I was going to go with Focal Audiom tweeters but the sales guy INSIST that JL TXR's will be better Focals will be too intense and "fatiguing" to listen to for extended periods of time. JL's will cost less. First time a sales guy has insisted on saving money. Not sure if he is steering me wrong or not. What do you guys think?
Wish I could but here in the sticks I doubt that I will get a chance to hear the Focals unless JL can't ship the SuperCleaner quickly. I listened to the Jl tweeters in the store but I was having trouble being objective about the sound because I had my mind set on the Focals. I will see if I can find a place to try the FOCALS out. Thanks
PS : The store salesman agreeded Focal a good product, but had a customer demand them and then after about six months later came back in and said that he wishes, and may switch, to the JL's for the smoother reponse of the speaker.

I stopped in a store in Little Rock today that had the focals hooked up. Sounded very good, but they were not the high end Audioms. The owner there said Focal does not make the Audiom anymore. Anyone know what they replaced it with?
The dude tried to sell me a Focal crossover and tweets for 5 grand. I must look a lot more stupid then I thought I did.
Those must have been the "audioms" that I was looking for. The guy told me that they don;t make them anymore. I was up to spend the grand for the two tweets but this guy said if I didn;t use the Focal crossovers that I would burn them up. Sounded like BS to me. Were they the Audioms?
Yes, I had it installed along with JL stealth sub, JL 500/5 amp, JL XR650 speakers. Unfortunately the Clean Sweep sounded muddy, the bass was overpowering even with the **** turned down all the way, the highs were not there. I was disappointed. I think it might work well for other applications but for the vette (2004) it was just not the ticket. I had them remove it and install a Clarion DRZ9255. Wow, it really kicks butt now and with the equalizer you can really dial it in for bass or highs or both depending on your mood and music. The Stereo installer has been in business for over twenty years so I don't think it was anything they did, it is just that in the end you are still getting the signals from a POS Delco head unit. I really wanted to keep the dash stock but it just didn't work out.
But I am pretty pumped about the sounds now. The hushmatt or whatever it's called helped as well.

You had one of those Clarions put in?? Sweet, when I worked for a Clarion dealer I always wanted to try out one of those but couldn't fork over the dough even at dealer accomodtion pricing! My P1R will have to work for now (when I get it fixed, that is)....
It would have been after the factory unit and before the amp. It (Clean Sweep) was mounted on the passenger side of the transmission tunnel vertically hidden under the carpet. Location was good, not visable and was flat enough to not take up any room. I will get a picture of the Clarion.
I read the sticky on how to post pictures, now need to find a place to put them on the net. Too fried to do it tonight, because I know, it will never work the first time, and then I will get all worked up, probably throw something against the big Oak tree in the back yard I use to execute electronics that don't cooperate, then be up half the night trying to get smoothed back out again. Sound familiar or do I need a shrink?
