Default PowerLock Theft Deterrent

Has anyone heard of this product or had it installed? They claim that this is "The only system that absolutely prevents hot-wiring....the primary method used by auto thieves." www.powerlock.com

never heard of it but it looks interesting. I have an alarm system that is louder than heck, flashes police strobes, and pages me. Then I come out with my two 9mm semi-autos.
Basically, no car is safe. If they want your car bad enough, even with that device, they'll get it. They would just tow it. An alarm system is your best bet to deter the normal thief.

blew is right....well except about the 9 milli's part. I am a 50 cal man.....lol.

No car is unstealable. Given enough time that product will be bipassed also. The most you can hope for is to deter possible what I call PITA thieves. Those are the kids who break your 300 window to steal your 50 buck radar detector. Or they steal the car only for you to get back trashed. A good car alarm will help deter those but not stop them. Personally if my car is stolen I do not want it back. I would much rather replace the car then try to repair what was done to it.

if i had an alarm in mine, lets say that went off when you tried to open the door handles; there would be plenty of idiots at my school who would set the alarm off. My friend had a nice car and had an alarm that went off when you touched the car or bumped it and the kids always kicked it to set it off. I was thinking maybe i'll rig a taser to the door handles so you get shocked if you touch it.. any ideas?

"The Integra has been in the top 10 of the insurance group’s 'hot cars' list for five straight years, even after Honda started adding a passive anti-theft device as standard equipment in the 2000 model year.

^ from the powerlock site..

I didn't know honda made an integra.. i was pretty sure it was acura that did that.

Acura is Honda's upscale line, Lexus is Toyota's and Infinity is Nissan's.

In Japan all of the Honda line is just Honda. Acura, Lexus, Infinity...these are all "high end" brands to appease our American ego.
