Has anybody tried using one of those bose interface adaptors that claims you can use an aftermarket head unit and still use the bose speakers. I would like to install a kenwood or alpine unit with the ipod interface on my 95. I have also found double din head units. Will these fit in the stock opening with out have to cut anything or use a tacky face plate to get a regular din radio in there? I just put a kenwood in my grand prix and i love it.
I have an Alpine using the adaptor. I wish I would have gone ahead and replaced with aftermarket speakers though. Sound is a bit tinny, the Bose actually sounded better but was a cassette unit.
Another question
When you use the adaptor do you still use the factory reciever box or do you bypass that. Im still trying to figure out how the adaptor wires up.
Thanks
Tony
The adapter works inline with the speaker outputs of the aftermarket head unit. It basically lowers the signal from the head unit to the bose amps at each speaker. You discard the original hu completely.
