Default Question about GM CD Changers vs. IPOD

I have been shopping on EBAY for a replacement changer. Mine likes to keep the magazine (it gets stuck and doesn't play the CD's). There seem to be different changers (part numbers). From the best that I can tell the difference is the location of the plug in in the back. So my question is do I need to purchase a specific part number or will they all work? Or am I a fool for looking at a used Changer? Should I go with an IPOD?

I just purchased a JVC tuner (KD-AVX1) that plays MP3's from DVDs. This means you can put over 1000 songs on just one disc. This would seem to eliminate the need for a CD changer, in my opinion. With just one or two DVDs you can store your whole music collection, without ever having to lift the hatch and load CDs into the changer.
It also plays movie DVDs and you can out your own JPEGs on the display screen. It costs around $450, but well worth it in my opinion. And it looks great!

Default iPOD - the only way

I have the 12 disc changes and recently got the iPod photo. Right now I use a FM transmitter to broadcast to the Delco radio (cheesy yes but it was quick to implement). My wife LOVES the iPod - it has over 2,000 songs now. As a result I seldom use the changer anymore.

The next step is to install the Alpine 9855 head unit. It will controll the iPod remotely AND it displays the song, playlist, artist - everything.

SO - I don't recommend investing in a changer - for the same money, or less money, and iPod will provide tons of music.
