I'm not old enough to understand why vacuum tubes and turn tables produce better sounding music, but I have read they do. This however, looks like a marketing gimmic to me. Panasonic
Haven't you heard? Old is new and new is old... look at all the musicians nowadays that are turning to old-style instruments to use in their new pop tunes.
Tube amps have almost always had a warmer, more natural ability to reproduce mids and highs.
Power hungry bass seems to be better handled by solid state amps.
My dream system was always a combo of tubed, for mids on up and a killer solid state for the bass.
This, of course, may sound like mis-matched crapola though

those butler amps are nice, i believe they used to make the old ppi tube amp. I actually looked into getting those for my car but i didn't have the money for them

I was looking at those in '96 and "barely" had the money at the time but didn't have the room. I bought the PPI Art series instead.
This new Blue series seems to be even better but I have the same car and still don't have the room.
Those Butler home amps look really sweet. 4 OHM stable WOW!
If only I had that kind of money.
I hope someone here buys these.
They are going cheap right now but I'll bet they won't be cheap for long. These were the 2 amps I was wanting to buy 9 years ago but as you can see, they're big and just won't fit in a '65 vert storage well.
Couple those to that Panasonic tube receiver and someone will be living the High Life!
that's it! why did i think it was sammy hagar? I wish i had these amps! they are so cool! I should try to get my roommate to get them for his lightning.
