What do you mean by "extra stuff".

Some of the "upper" Poineers have 6.5 volt pre-outs. But they also have too much animation, colors, and useless features IMO.

Eclipse look nice for 2005 as well, but I don't know much about their pricing.

I'm an Alpine fan these days.

if u look in my gallery i am running digital gauges..... something that will fit the "looks" of the clean appearance.... i think clairon had a touch screen that is flat and would go nice with my setup.......i don't need dolpins and glowsticks on my radio...... has to have a sub level control though

I wouldn't touch Clarion with a 10' insulated pole.
Cheapo electronics that fail prematurely and customer service that, for years, was very sub-par.

I agree with not liking all the bling effects, although from your pics, I am a little surprised.
Cool rims btw.

I just ordered a lot of stuff from woofersetc.com and they delivered what I asked for and on time.
I've only dealt with them once, but their prices were competitive in every category I looked at.

For 2-300 beans you can choose from much nicer units than Clarion.
Kenwood Excelon
KDC-X789 - Kenwood Excelon AM/FM/MP3/WMA/CD Player
$245.00

DEH-P770MP - Pioneer Premier MP3/WMA/WAV/CD Player
$255.00

All have 3 sets of pre-outs including sub. and should all have sub level controls as well.
I would choose the Kenwood over Pioneer, but check them out.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

http://pioneerusa.com/pna/product/de...etailComponent

one of those two........ the pioneer looks a little more clean as in appearance.... eclipse seems to have more power..5v preout....

it'll be a toss up

as for the over all concept of my car, i'm trying to keep clean and nice.... no over doing it i guess...... no rice... no extra stuff..... i'm sure some will think the car is bling cause of the rims but over all the car is smooth...body mods/details.......

c'mon spend some money!

eclipse with 8v outs and even nav in a single din unit

actually, if i were looking for a clean eclipse unit i'd go try to find last years models. those were so much better looking and it's hard to beat eclipse.

there is always nakamichi though

I'm installing the Sony CDX-M8815X

When it's off, the face is solid black. Since my interior will end up being a purple and black theme, this really fit the bill for me. I found it for just over $250 I think. It has two preamp outs that are fade controlled and a preamp sub woofer out.

I bought a Nakamichi CD-400 for the same reasons. I wanted something with 3 preamp outputs and an input. Also wanted a high quality headunit without all the crap. Has a 24bit converter. Pretty simple deck, but it kicks butt. I also think most headunits aren't aesthetically pleasing like the Nakamichis. They also have the CD-300 and 500. I believe they have MP3 capabilities.

It also has treble, mid, bass, and sub. also you can turn the internal amp off. I have pics of it installed if anybody wants to see it. I can't host them because I let my website expire and just haven't gotten around to get it up again. I have it in my Tacoma. I looks factory..stealth.. which I like. The remote is also pretty durable It has skid across a parking lot many times
